Confidentiality and Privacy Policy
What we discuss in Coaching will be held in confidence and not shared with others. However, our discussions are not privileged for legal purposes. The privilege of confidentiality that exists for the clergy, therapists and attorneys is not granted to coaching professionals. That said, life coaching is a confidential process, and your personal information will be protected. I will not talk to anyone about you unless it is something we have discussed and you are in agreement, or if it is something you have asked me to do.
Life Coaching and Insurance
Life Coaching is not reimbursable by insurance companies because no medical diagnosis is treated. Diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, an eating disorder, substance abuse, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder can all be submitted to insurance companies by certain mental health professionals for possible reimbursement. However, Life Coaching is not about treating these kinds of problems and diagnoses, so insurance will not cover any Life Coaching sessions.
Location for Coaching
Sessions normally can be in person if you live in the Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, or Tempe areas of Arizona, but due to Covid 19, many sessions are currently being done via phone or secure video conferencing. However, if someone has been vaccinated, then doing an in-person session is possible. If you live outside of that geographical area, sessions are also possible via phone, or confidential video conferencing.
Session Preparation
When you schedule a Coaching session, you will receive a link to a Client Portal on the Simple Practice platform. When you click on that link you will find some forms I ask you to fill out and send back to me. The portal gives you much greater privacy than if I sent them to you via email. Also, if you schedule an online session, you will receive a link to the session for the day and time of your appointment, and at that time, simply click on the link to meet online.
