What we discuss in Coaching will be held in confidence and not shared with others. However, our discussions are not privileged for legal purposes. The privilege of confidentiality that exists for the clergy, therapists and attorneys is not granted to coaching professionals. That said, life coaching is a confidential process, and your personal information will be protected. I will not talk to anyone about you unless it is something we have discussed and you are in agreement, or if it is something you have asked me to do.
Life Coaching and Insurance
Life Coaching is not reimbursable by insurance companies because no medical diagnosis is treated. Diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, an eating disorder, substance abuse, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder can all be submitted to insurance companies by certain mental health professionals for possible reimbursement. However, Life Coaching is not about treating these kinds of problems and diagnoses, so insurance will not cover any Life Coaching sessions.
Location for Coaching
Sessions normally can be in person if you live in the Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, or Tempe areas of Arizona, however, due to Covid 19, those sessions are currently being done via phone or secure video conferencing. If you live outside of that area, sessions are done via phone, or confidential video conferencing. We will give you information about how to set it up so it is confidential if you choose to do video conferencing.
If you decide that you would like to schedule a Coaching session, we will send you a Welcome Packet that provides more information about us to you. Included will be a form that we ask you to send back to whichever coach you schedule a session with so we have a better idea beforehand of the kinds of things you want to work on as well as gives us some helpful information about you. Included in that Welcome Packet will be a Session Preparation form that we request you to send to your coach prior to each session.
