Research has shown that about 50% of our ability to be happy is determined by our genes, 10% is affected by the circumstances in our lives, and 40% is affected by intentional activity. What that means is that, essentially, we each have a lot of power to raise our level of happiness. These days, though, our lives are cramed so full of things to accomplish, tasks to do, and caring for others, that we seldom take the time to relax and replenish ourselves in a healthy way. "Happiness Breaks" are monthly groups focused on raising your happiness level through such activities as guided visualization, mindfulness, breath work, playful and creative activities. You will learn strategies each session that you can practice at home.
